Before printing ScanSimple labels on your Zebra Printer, a one-time installation process is necessary to connect the app to your printer. Please follow the instructions below.
Standard Installation Process
- Download the Scan Simple installer here.
- Double-click to launch the installer.
- You might get system prompts from your machine before proceeding with the installation
- Microsoft Defender SmartScreen: To stop this from preventing the ScanSimple app from running, click “More Info” then choose “Run Anyway”
- User Account Control: When asked if you want the app to make changes on your device, choose “Yes”
- After the ScanSimple logo appears, select your preferred installation language. (Default is English)
- When prompted to choose the Java Runtime to use, the installer will automatically detect the path where it has been installed. Click “OK”
- Once the ScanSimple Wizard launches, click “Next.”
- When prompted for the path to install with the app, the Setup Wizard has pre-determined a path where the app will be installed. You can customize this based on your preference, but it is advisable to stick with the default path provided. Click “Next.”
- The Setup Wizard will automatically install all the files needed for the custom print manager.
- Important: Reboot your computer after installation for the changes to take effect.
- Upon rebooting, your station will now be able to recognize your station. Simply input the license key provided to activate the ScanSimple app.
Error: Looking for Java in your system
If you do not have Java installed on your system, you might encounter an error that prompts you to install Java first.
Clicking “OK” will redirect you to the website where you can download the Java Runtime Environment. Please follow the instructions on the website for installation.
Once you have successfully installed Java on your machine, double-click the ScanSimple installer again to launch the program and follow the directions above.
